I am in the market for a new table lamp for our console table Ryan built. We are painting the living room lighter, and that creates lots of options for lamp base colors. I’m looking for something that’s around 20 inches tall, to offset the tall vase I have there. Here are a few I’m loving for under $75 (though almost all are under $40 at press time!).
Opalhouse Lamp
Target just does so many value decor deals the right way. I’ve scored a ton of great items around the house from Target. The rotating line of decorators mixed with the low prices for cute items gives wiggle room to change up looks as styles get updated. This white Opalhouse lamp is a great option for a console or tabletop, and would look great perched on a set of coffee table books:
At $35, this versatile lamp could be suited well against almost any color pallet.
Threshold Lamp
Target’s Threshold line is another example of doing it right with low-cost decor options. Check out this gray lamp that proves it. With a super versatile gray ceramic speckled with brown, it would go with any light, gray or brown pallet. I’ve mentioned it before – gray and brown can be pulled off together (and we’ve done it here while we think about other furniture that can be equally lived in as what we’ve got). This lamp could be an item to bridge that gap between gray and brown.
At under $30, this bargain find is definitely a top contender for value a new console lamp.
George Oliver Lamp
Over the past few years I’ve seen many George Oliver furniture and decor items at a bargain find on Wayfair. I’m thinking of adding a black lamp in our foyer, to coordinate with the black overhead light we installed and the new curtains we’re planning to hang. This one looks great:
At under $63, it’s a little more expensive but super sleep looking with the matte finish.
Brass Lamp
For a brass look, this geometrical design is both funky and sleek. At under $40, it’s a great value option that pairs with modern brass chandeliers and kitchen knobs and pulls.
We updated our knobs and pulls recently (here’s a how-to), and debated brass knobs. They are on trend and will set the standard for a classic look, but we ultimately stayed with our stainless/nickel vibe throughout until we think about appliances with cabinet covers.
KLABB Lamp
To round us out, for those of us thinking about sticking with the nickel or stainless look, this KLABB lamp is an excellent find at under $35. I love IKEA and it is my happy place (even with a face mask during the pandemic). I could spend hours wandering around, and as you can tell we love a bargain IKEA product that we can jazz up (based on this and this hack).
The geometrical design is cool yet smooth looking, and balances well with the rectangular shade. If you go to IKEA, can I tag along to just look??? Maybe we can go half-sies on some Kafferep (one of my favorite sweets!).
