Spring Roundup of Neutral Rugs

January 2022

Are you looking for a quick room refresh as Spring approaches? Updating a runner or rug is a simple way to brighten and update your space. Neutral, light colored rugs compliment nearly any space. I’ve pulled together some classic and affordance options here. Follow us on the LiketoKnow.it app for more daily deals and style finds: here.

The first is the option I used for our playroom. Great light color, inexpensive, and durable for those LEGO wheels and other small snaggy toys. I found it at Target, after trying several others from West Elm and Marshalls.

Here’s the link to the listing and the full image: here.

Hearth and Hand by Magnolia has several inexpensive rugs that have a high-end look. Jute patterned rugs can be expensive, but this one won’t break the bank. It would look great alone or layered on top of a sisal or another neutral jute rug. Here’s the link: here.

And here’s another classic looking windowpane rug from Target that won’t break the bank. This one is similar to a style that Studio McGee had a few seasons ago in jute, but this version is a softer wool and cotton blend. Softness for those little feet and toes – or those adult toes – for some plush cushion in any room. Sizes can come in and out of stock, but here’s a link to watch for stock alerts: here.

I’ve had lighter colored jute rugs in my house for years. It’s durable, and often the rugs can be flipped if they show signs of wear or sun damage. This one has some nice neutral strips, which would look great in a dining area or family room, or layered on a larger jute rug: here.

West Elm is a great option for finding rugs. Over the years I’ve found several for family rooms, kid rooms and kitchen runners. This natural wool handmade rug may run a little more than the other options here, but is beautiful and would last for years. You can find it here.

And to round us out, here is a Loloi neutral option I have in my house. Loilo rugs vary in price, but they have low cost options with low pile prints that are easy for kitchens and high traffic areas. Marshalls and other discount vendors often have options available.
