Nifty Organizers to Keep Your Kitchen Tidy

December 2020

I feel like I’m in the kitchen ALL. DAY. LONG. With the pandemic, it’s a series of cooking, cleaning, putting away clean stuff, cooking, cleaning, putting away clean stuff from sunrise to bedtime. Here are some of the little things we use in the kitchen to bring us sanity and create efficiencies in the nonstop cleaning.

Sponge Holder

This sponge holder is super nifty. I use it for sponges and for my disposable hand soaps. I don’t like things on the counter (including a hand soap dispenser), so this fits both nicely. The suction cups really work well and hold up. Over the past four or five years, I’ve replaced only once.

Under Sink Organizer

An under sink organizer helps create more space to fit all the things. I use a bin setup to hold cleaning supplies under one sink, and a shelf under another. Those are both really helpful, but I’d like to upgrade to a pull out under sink organizer like this one.

Plastic Bag Organizer

We live in the Pacific Northwest, and there is a movement for stores to not use plastic grocery bags. I still get them from some stores, and they come in handy from time to time for random things. To keep the bags nice and tidy, I have a bag holder like this one under my sink.

Kitchen Drawer Organizers

I keep my kitchen drawers tidy. I’ve had to let go of the specific positions that my spoons and forks lie in, but they still have a neat and tidy little home to rest. These Rev-A-Shelf wood drawer organizers can be cut to be a custom fit. We have a few of the Rev-A-Shelf organizers in some drawers, and expandable bamboo organizers in others. These bamboo expandable drawer organizers are expandable to fit several sized drawers.

Kitchen Dry Mat

When we are washing and drying, washing and drying and washing and drying our dishes, it’s nice to have this countertop dry mat. It absorbs water, doesn’t get smelly, is machine washable and can be folded away when I’m not using it (which seems like never lately). We have a gray one that matches our counters and could possibly blend in (again, if it weren’t always piled full of drying dishes).

We shared some pantry organization a few months ago. We’ve added more favorite finds, but here here is a post about some of the early finds for the pantry.
