Black Friday Decor Items Under $20

November 2020

I’ve been shopping online since last night, scoping out deals for updates to our front living room. I have my new console table lamp, though I am still shopping around and may return it because it was much littler than I thought. Lesson learned to really look at the description on sizes to make sure it’s the base alone vs. base and lamp shade.

There are great decor items on Black Friday deals. Here are a few things I’ve found that will make great additions to our console table.

Sheer Curtains

Our front living room has a huge arched window that I want to disguise a bit until we can update the windows in a year or two. To do that, I need to update the curtain situation to raise the bar from a lower midway position to above the arch. This requires really long curtains. 132-136 inches, to make it work and longer if I want a curtain puddle. That puts us into custom curtain range.

I’ve been shopping around for custom curtains for a few weeks. But today I found a score! From all of the online shops I’ve looked at, I was stoked to discover Kohls had a few options of curtains that are 132 and above in length. Until I make a decision on a custom fabric, these are a steal of a deal. I purchased a few varieties to see what works, and am planning to double them up to create a bit more window coverage. For 142 inch curtain panels at $16, these doubled up are far less than a custom curtain will cost. I bought a few other options (including some in a 132 length) to see what works best. If these end up just being a temporary fix, I will be looking at Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware or Shade Store for custom curtains (which are $$$). But I can use these as sheer liners for the custom curtains if I go that route (double score!).What. A. Steal.

Curtain Rod Rings

I usually find pole pocket drapes for most of my curtains. For the living room I’ve been on a mission to brighten, I purchased a black curtain rod from Amazon (here), which matches the style of the ones I have throughout our house in a stainless steel finish. These have an industrial look, and I like the wrap-around pole for that little bit of extra privacy. These are more than $25, but I bought a few weeks ago.

Curtain Rod

For rings, I wanted something a little more modern. I found these cute matte black ones on CB2.com for under $10 each:

Curtain Rings

These are a little more squared and offer a bit more modern look with those hard edge lines. I am hoping they slide smoothly because they are holding tall curtains and it is not fun to have to yank away at a curtain that won’t open or close on its rod. With discounts through CB2.com’s SAVEMORE or as a SHOPRUNNER customer, these are less expensive than others I found on Target and Amazon.

Tabletop Decor

When my holiday console decor comes down [in super late January or early February…], I want a new square tray to sit on the entry way console. I found this adorable marble tray on CB2.com for under $20.

Marble Tray

The small tray is under $20 (and with those coupon codes or SHOPRUNNER even less). It is backordered but will be here just in time for the transition from the holidays.

For a bit more, this cute larger marble tray would also look great on a coffee table or console, or you can serve up your New Year’s cocktails in this:

Bird Sculptures

It is no secret that I have a thing for birds. I’ve been looking on Etsy and Ebay for brass birds. These on Amazon are also really cute and a great value at under $20:

Birds

They are on sale for $17 (when I wrote this) and would look really cute on stacked books. They are pretty mod with the shiny gold coat, and would also look really cute on a set of floating shelves in a kitchen.

Can’t wait until Cyber Monday to see if I can find any other awesome decor ideas.
